ELEONES receives Sliver at Olympia Health and Nutrition Awards 2017 (15/05/2017)

The ELEONES team is delighted to announce that ELEONES Early Harvest extra virgin olive oil is for the second year in a row one of the olive oils with the Highest Phenolic content in the world.

On Thursday the 11th of May ELEONES olive oil was awarded the Silver Standard of Excellence for high phenolic Olive Extra Virgin Olive Oil at the Olympia Awards for Health and Nutrition held at the Old Parliament House in Athens, Greece.

The Olympia Awards for Health and Nutrition remains the only international competition for olive oil by solely taking into consideration the content of total phenols in the olive oil.

It is important to mention that olive oils from various olive oil producing countries where tested for the competition.

ELEONES Early Harvest was awarded the Silver Standard of Excellence after it was tested with the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy a technique that measures the contents of Oleocanthal and Oleacein in the olive oil. Both are now recognized, according to the findings presented at the conference, that fight cancer and the development of Alzheimer decease, raise the levels of HDL good cholesterol, delay aging and reinforce your immune system amongst others!

According to the EU regulation 432/2012 about health claims, which is the strictest in the world , ELEONES olive oil belongs to the oil category that protect the blood lipids from oxidative stress. In fact ELEONES exceeds by a staggering 242% the EU’s regulation limit.
